English Topic – Are you satisfied with your life ?
Hi All,
Let’s see our topic today.
ARE YOU SATISFIED WITH YOUR LIFE?
As human being, many people are not always satisfied with what they have no matter how many goals they have or how many things they own. I am sure that our lives would not be full if we were that way. The fact shows that the statement above applies to many angles in our lives such as material needs, emotions, achievements, etc. In this writing, I would like to give some reasons why many people do that.
It is widely agreed that the dissatisfaction and permanent needs start at a very young age. While we are babies, we want to have a lot of toys. No matter how many of them we have, we always ask for more. It is not difficult to understand. When a child is given a new toy, he indulges in playing it, but after getting used to it, he becomes less enthusiastic and wants to get a new one. So, we can say that things we do not own or have never seen before look more attractive than ones that we have.
Once we grow older, our goals become a little less material. At this time, children might want to get their mother’s approval or their father’s pride. Their goals now are to achieve high marks at school and good behavior in communication. As children or teenagers, we all usually feel proud of our parents when they do good things or get success in their business. That makes us feel happy, so we want to feel that again and again. In addition, we always crave to be successful and happy first. Years by years that craving becomes stronger, and with every goal we have accomplished, we reach higher targets to prove ourselves, to make other proud of us, or even satisfy our greed. As a result, no matter how many goals we achieve, we will always persist on finding new ones.
Do you think the rich have everything? I do not think so. A rich person might have a big sum of money, but it does not mean that he has happy life. With money, he can buy a house but not home; he can buy a book, but not knowledge; he can buy sex but not love; he can buy medicines but not health, and so on. Because of spending time earning much money, they usually do not have time his happiness, at that time, they are willing to spend their money buying it. However, this kind of happiness just lasts for short time, so he always seeks it. To some people, they even violate the law to enjoy their life.
In short, to improve ourselves, we should always live with goals. That is why we always want to get more and different things from what we have had. However, we should be ourselves on the way to get them. We should not be so greedy that we can destroy ourselves.
